Step-by-Step Registration Process

- Navigate to the file sharing system website
- Click on "Sign Up" or "Register"

After logging in, you'll see your student dashboard with the following sections:
Welcome Section
Displays your profile information:
- Full Name
- Email Address
- Matric Number
- Department
- Current Level
Your Uploads Section
Shows all files you have uploaded, including:
- File name and type
- Department and level tagged
- Course code
- Which lecturer the file was submitted to
- Upload date and time
- File size
- Your description/notes
Actions available for your uploads:
- View: Open the file in browser
- Download: Save file to your device
- Delete: Remove the file (with confirmation)
Lecturer Uploaded Files Section
Displays files uploaded by lecturers that match your department and level:
- Course materials
- Lecture notes
- Assignments
- Past questions
- Project guidelines
🎯 Smart Filtering: The system automatically shows you only files relevant to your department and level. Files marked "All Departments" or "All Levels" will also appear.
⚠️ Profile Warning: If your department or level is not set, you'll see a warning message and may not see lecturer files. Contact the administrator to update your profile.

How to Upload a File

- Click "Upload a File" button on your dashboard
- You'll be redirected to the upload form

- Click "Choose File" or browse button
- Select the file from your device
- Supported formats: PDF, DOC, DOCX, PPT, PPTX, TXT, JPG, PNG, MP4, AVI, MKV
- Maximum file size: 100MB

Submit Upload
- Review all information
- Click "Upload File" button
- Wait for upload to complete (you'll see a progress indicator)
- Upon success, you'll be redirected to your dashboard
✅ Upload Complete! Your file is now stored securely on Cloudinary and the lecturer you assigned it to will be able to see it.

- File size must not exceed 100MB
- Only supported file formats are allowed
- Department and level cannot be changed (uses your profile settings)

How Files Are Filtered
The system automatically shows you files that match:
- Your Department: Files uploaded for your specific department
- Your Level: Files uploaded for your current level
- All Departments/Levels: Files marked as available to everyone
File Information Displayed
For each lecturer file, you can see:
- File name and type
- Uploaded by (lecturer's name and email)
- Target department and level
- Course code (if specified)
- Upload date
- File size
- Description/instructions from lecturer
- Assignment badge (if it's an assignment)
